Founded in 1985 by Terry Hardie and named after his grandad. Thomas Hardie the business started out with just two premises in Deeside and Liverpool, this year Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd officially celebrates 40 years of trading. In recognition of this milestone anniversary, we will not only honour the past but also embrace the future.
Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd is still just as recognisable today as it once was, not least because many of our principal employees have devoted their lives to the company and our customers. These long-serving employees provide an exceptional source of expert knowledge and continuity across all our depots.
Thomas Hardie has been named Volvo’s Dealer of the Year for no less than 4 times; this is a monumental accolade for all at Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd. In addition, our Used Trucks division have achieved the Used Trucks Dealer of the Year Award a colossal, six times in total.
This year we will commemorate the 40 years in various ways, and our employees will be involved/recognised in the activities that we have planned throughout 2025.
For many, 1985 might seem ancient history, but for older colleagues it’s a memory of youth, and an opportunity to share fond memories with newer appointments who have recently taken a position with the company, and the younger generation who will benefit from the experience attained from their time-served peers. The same is true of each year in turn: as it allows us the opportunity to honour former colleagues and understand how the company, the business and our people have changed, adapted and grown.
