David Bratt & Sons (Haulage) Ltd has marked a significant milestone in its fleet development with the arrival of its first new Volvo truck in more than two decades. The two Volvo FH Aero units were supplied by Paul McNicholas, Customer Solutions Manager at Thomas Hardie Commercials, following a successful evaluation of the manufacturer’s latest technology.
Founded in 1958 with a single vehicle and a clear vision, David Bratt & Sons Haulage Ltd has evolved into a modern, diverse logistics operation now running a fleet of 70 trucks and 60 trailers. The latest investment reflects the company’s continued commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and driver welfare.
Stephen Bratt, Joint Managing Director, commented: “Although we have predominantly run other manufacturers in our fleet in recent years, whenever the time comes for a fleet refresh or expansion, we always make sure we use our due diligence on what products are out there in the market. The decision to order followed a successful trial of Thomas Hardie’s Aero demonstrator vehicle, of which we were suitably impressed with the exceptional driver comfort and fuel efficiency that it offered.”
The company’s emphasis on enhanced driver experience supports its wider strategy of boosting operational efficiency, reducing driver turnover, and maintaining long-standing service standards.
The introduction of the Volvo FH Aero units marks the beginning of a renewed partnership with Volvo Trucks as David Bratt & Sons Haulage Ltd continues to invest in a reliable, sustainable, and driver-focused future.
