Volvo Trucks has once again set the benchmark for safety in the heavy-duty truck industry, receiving the maximum 5-star safety rating from the European consumer test organization Euro NCAP.

In the latest 2025 assessments, both the Volvo FH Aero 6x2 and the Volvo FM 6x2 achieved the highest possible rating, confirming Volvo’s continued leadership in traffic safety.

This marks the second round of Euro NCAP’s newly launched safety ratings for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, following the organization’s first-ever truck safety tests in late 2024. Those initial evaluations focused on the "fleet" segment*, where Volvo also led the field – the Volvo FH Aero and Volvo FM were the only trucks to receive 5 stars in the debut test.

The second round of testing, conducted in 2025, targeted 6x2 rigid trucks. Once again, Volvo’s vehicles were the standout performers. The 5-star rating reflects top marks in key safety areas including:

👉 Advanced driver support systems

👉 Collision avoidance capabilities

👉 Protection for both drivers and vulnerable road users

These results align with Volvo Trucks’ vision of a zero-accident future, a commitment that continues to drive the development of innovative safety technologies that both protect and prevent.

Adding to the excitement, the latest NCAP demonstrator truck has been met with enthusiastic feedback from customers. Designed with cutting-edge safety features and driver-centric enhancements, it exemplifies Volvo’s dedication to real-world performance.

Ricky Hughes, Fleet Solutions Manager at Volvo Trucks, shared his thoughts:

“The NCAP is revolutionary. It comes packed with an array of extras aimed at supporting the overall driving experience, and the safety features are second to none. I can’t say enough positive words about it — driving is believing.”
